Yes, some AI coding tools let you add capacity without changing the base plan through top-ups, approved usage billing, an organization pool, or an API-key route. Availability, expiration, and who may purchase it remain product- and account-specific.
Verdent currently offers one-time top-ups without a plan upgrade. Its pricing page lists several fixed credit amounts, and its billing documentation says top-up credits remain available until used. The purchased balance is shared across Verdent products on the same account.
Before buying extra capacity, verify:
- Whether your exact plan and account type are eligible.
- Whether the new balance expires or is spent before subscription credits.
- Which models, products, or agent features it can fund.
- Whether a billing owner must approve the purchase.
- Whether usage stops at zero or can create additional charges.
Compare a top-up with an upgrade over the period you expect to use it. A top-up suits a temporary release or backlog; an upgrade may be better for sustained demand or team controls. Preserve enough capacity for tests and review, and investigate repeated retries before simply adding credits.
