When your available credits reach zero, standard credit-based requests stop. In Verdent Desktop, active subscribers can enable Eco Mode to continue with selected low-cost models under separate usage limits. In Verdent for VS Code, requests remain paused until credits are available again.

## What Happens

- Standard credit-based requests stop when your available credits reach zero.
- In Verdent Desktop, active subscribers can enable Eco Mode to continue with selected low-cost models.
- In Verdent for VS Code, requests remain paused until credits are available again.
- Existing files and previous work remain intact.
- Your account and subscription stay active unless the subscription itself is canceled or expires.

## How To Continue

You can continue by:

- In Verdent Desktop, enabling [Eco Mode](/docs/account-billing/eco-mode) if you have an active subscription
- Waiting for the next subscription credit refresh at the start of your next billing cycle
- Purchasing a one-time top-up
- Upgrading to a higher plan

## Where To Check Your Balance

- In Verdent Desktop, open **User Menu → Dashboard**
- In Verdent for VS Code, open **User Center**
